Why your sins will NEVER keep you from being used by God

Watch the vid by Steve McVey, Christian Religion Lie #64 “Your Sins Can Disqualify You From Being Used By Godand my comments follow…

This lie is such a narcissistic one.

In fact, most of these lies I’ve been attacking are narcissistic. They focus on US. Focus on YOU. And what you “need to do”… “should do”… “have done”… or “have not done”.

And then in an even more powerful display of self absorbtion they tell you “because of YOU… God does this…”

Complete and utter LIES!

God is all powerful. Totally in Control.

And everything He does is completely unilateral and can’t be affected by what YOU do. It is the height of narcissim to think that God changes His plans and gets screwed up because of YOU.

The Bible shows this Lie is not true…

Read Hebrews 11 and pay attention to the people who God says are great men of faith, examples of faith… THEN… consider all their sins:

  • Noah got off the ark and got fall down drunk. Your alcoholism can’t keep God from using you…
  • Moses was a murderer, is the sin you feel guilty over as bad as murder?
  • David was an adulterer, your infidelity can’t keep you from being a display of God’s glory…
  • Rahab the harlet was a harlet, your job no matter how “respectful” isn’t a measure of how much God can use you…
  • The Apostle Paul persecuted and murdered a truckload of Christians before God used Him to write 2/3 of new testament.
  • Peter denied Jesus, but when He was raised, Jesus specifically mentioned Peter by name. Peter preached on day of pentacost and is was greatly used by God…

Did these people’s various sins keep them from being used by God?

Did it screw up God’s plans when they sinned?

HECK NO!

The Truth is: No sin you can commit that can keep you from being used by God.

Don’t believe this lie. Steve McVey recommends visualizing your worst sin… taking it and laying it at the cross of God and then walking away from it. I recomend the same. Then thank God that He took care of that sin at the cross.

The truth is…

God will use your sins, your life, everything about you for His glory. He is all powerful, totally and completely MORE powerful than you are and you can’t do anything to keep Him from displaying His glory and love and mercy and grace through you.

With Love :)
