That was well explained. Thank you.

"That’s why you need little more than the faith of a mustard seed because it’s what your faith is IN"

Or in my own words. Since Jesus is God and therefore infinity powerful, the amount of faith we have in Jesus, whist it may be quantifiable, is irrelevant, since any amount of faith in Him still equates to something infinite.

Thanks and may God bless your ministry immensely.

Hey Martin,

This is pretty on track...

"was Christ telling Peter when he sinking that he simply forgot (for lack of a better word) Christ and the power he has in us"

... because faith itself is a gift from God. (Heb 12:2, Rom 12:3) So it's not about something you need to get more of to perform anything ,etc.

What I mean is -- it's not about how much YOU have or can generate, it's about WHO you have faith in -- what is your faith -- which is Jesus. And Jesus is all you'll need -- that's why you need little more than the faith of a mustard seed because it's what your faith is IN -- and that's Christ.

Now, something else you must always keep in mind about Christ's actual words is -- He wasn't done yet! He had not yet been crucified and raised from the dead -- so the people He was talking to were in a different position in relation to righteousness justified by faith in a risen savior.

So a lot of what Jesus said, isn't necessarily applicable to you and I because we are in a different "place" than people still walking in Jesus' time with Him... before He had "put away the sins of the world"... before He had fulfilled all the prophecies He came to fulfill... before He had completely fulfilled His purposes. As it says in 2 Tim 2:15, we need to "rightly divide the word" to see what applies and what doesn't...

Does that make sense?

With Love :)

I would love to hear your flesh this out more. I'd love to hear your perspective on the words of Christ when he says things like "ye of little faith" or "faith of a mustard seed". I can see both a confirmation of what you say and also a conflict.

You say Christ Jesus is our faith, thus there can be no quantification of it, because Christ is Christ. Yet Jesus it seems quantifies it. If Christ is our faith, how can it be the size of a mustard seed.

At the same time it confirms what you say, because it would seem that Christ is saying ANY measure of faith is enough to perform amazing wonders. So, from your perspective, was Christ telling Peter when he sinking that he simply forgot (for lack of a better word) Christ and the power he has in us and, in a sence, had misplaced his faith in doing so? Not that Peter didn't have enough faith?

Id love to hear what your perspective is on this
