The title may seem obvious, but sometimes I think that we as fallible humans with severely impaired fore-sight can forget this simple fact, That God does like us.
Sometimes when we go through experiences or situations that seem to be particularly painful it’s easy to think that God must want you to fail, and is playing against you.
Then again, sometimes you’re up and you feel like the world is for you. But you aren’t so sure about God…
No matter whether you’re up or down, it’s important to know that God is for you! And He has your best interests at heart.
This very fact is mentioned many times in His written word:
“For I know the plans that I have for you,’ declares the LORD, ‘plans for welfare and not for calamity to give you a future and a hope.” – Jeremiah 29:11
Plans to give you a future and a hope. What a wonderful promise (God doesn’t lie my friend). Also :
“Surely goodness and lovingkindness will follow me all the days of my life,
And I will dwell in the house of the LORD forever.” – Psalm 23:6
And of course you know that no matter how bad it seems He has never left you and never will. (Hebrews 13:5)
The trick is to trust Him in faith at His word that He is for you and to go forward into life with confidence knowing that He has already won the victory for you! Even if you can’t see it right now. (1 Corinthians 15:57)
