God does NOT want you to resist sin

Watch Christian Lie #18: “If you resist sin you will become more Godly” by Stevo McVeyo and then read my comments afterwards…

This comment, “If you resist sin you will become more Godly” is based on behavior… based on “sin management”… not on who you ARE.

As a Christian you ARE Godly because you have the life of Christ in your spirit. It has nothing to do with whether you sin or not sin.

In fact, even when you are sinning — you are still Godly…

It may seem hard to swallow, but look at the reverse of it:

If you aren’t a Christian, if you’re not yet saved, then no matter how much of a “good person” you are — are you then “Godly” ?

If you go to Church… feed the poor… help the homeless… all that good stuff, no matter how good it is will NOT make you “Godly”.

Because “Godly” isn’t a condition that depends on your behavior, it’s a condition that depends on your spirit — who you really ARE.

Don’t take me to say that God doesn’t care if you sin as a Christian. That’s not what I’m saying. However, it does nothing to change who you are — you’re still Godly…

Even better, when you really GET how much grace has been poured out on you as a Christian, the fact that you are right with God and will always be right with God, still loved — No Matter What You Do, No Matter How Much Sin You Commit — THAT is what is going to inspire a deep love of God for you… make you want to turn away from sinful things… and make you desire His life living out through yours.

(The prodigal son parable was Jesus talking about this very thing)
