My husband and I have poured over church history and the New Testament. No mention anywhere that the gifting of pastor is an office that deserves to be paid a weekly salary...not to mention that a pastor/institutional church has any authority over one's soul (for "protection", etc) I find it amazing that no one I know (Christians) even question why in the "gifts" listings in the N.T. they have come to believe that "pastor" is the only "gifting" that deserves a paycheck....and that paycheck comes from an O.T. law of tithing.
